Ride and Run with The Stars
Ride & Run with the Stars is a holiday fundraising event initiated by the members of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office in order to provide food, clothing and toys for underprivileged and/or crime-stricken children and families.
The “Ride” began in 1993, at Fort DeSoto Park, and has been held there on the first Saturday in December ever since. There are cycling and running events, food as well as special activities for children, such as a rock climbing wall, free bike rodeo, and a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their elves in the Pinellas County Sheriff's helicopter. It’s an event that the children big and small cherish each and every year.

The “Ride” is the largest law enforcement organized holiday charity fundraiser in the Tampa Bay area and has raised over $450,000 in donations and proceeds. The Sheriff and staff of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office appreciate your participation and donations to this very worthy community event.

Of the 60,000 diagnosed each year, over 8,000 will die from this devastating disease. The Dean Hedstrom Foundation mission is to educate golfers, especially juniors, to the risks of long term exposure to the sun, the importance of sunscreen and the importance of routine skin checks resulting in early detection and prevention
